A client contacted SERVPRO of Barrington/North Schaumburg to provide equipment for a water loss at a gymnasium where they were performing construction services. While we were only asked to provide equipment we strongly recommended to them that they utilize a dessicant dehumidifer rather than a conventional refrigerant dehumidifiers due to the large space. The client chose not to follow our advice so we provided them the dehumidifiers they requested.

This project had significant water damage in the basement and required SERVPRO to perform two foot "Flood Cuts" through out most of the basement. These cuts should be at either two feet or four feet and should be straight. This allows a one half sheet or one full sheet of drywall to be installed during the rebuild phase of the project. A straight cut insures a smoother more invisible seam when the drywall is installed, taped, primed and painted. The carpeted floor was damaged by the flood water and both the carpet and pad were removed. The entire area will be swept and vacuumed in preparation for the rebuild of the area.

Held on August 6, 2016 the Barrington Park District Big Truck event was a big hit for the children and adults alike. It was a beautiful day in Barrington and the turnout was large.
